BACKGROUND: 

Shar for Development was established as an endeavour to reach peaceful, stable, culturally, economically and politically developing societies dominated by the values of cooperation, teamwork, enjoyment of public freedoms, respect for transparency and institutional work, and reaching a developmental state at all levels through interactive and deep programs that relate the qualification to the requirements of reality and support programs to activate democratic means in administration and society such as freedom of information, empowering women, activating their participation, supporting and developing economic and environmental development, activating youth energies and establishing a culture of volunteering and civic education and rationalising the support provided based on setting priorities and size of the impact.

CONTEXTUAL BACKGROUND:

Shiyan Project in the third phase is a continuation of activities carried out to achieve the objectives of the project and achieve the general goal of promoting community participation and contribution to the public life by providing solutions and working directly with decision-makers. In this stage, the intervention will be direct to find a solution to the current problems, in health, women and education sectors in order to implement measures to ease the current situation as a direct contribution to influencing public affairs with regard to the vital sectors of concern to people in Northeastern Syria.

JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY: 

The Daily Worker for Program will work on the Shiyan project. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the Program Officer in implementing, monitoring and coordinating activities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the execution of project activities as outlined in the project plan. This may include organizing events, workshops, or meetings related to the project, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth implementation.
  • Help in monitoring project progress and collecting relevant data to assess the impact of activities. This involves documenting outcomes, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and contributing to progress reports.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, partners, and stakeholders. This includes scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project activities, including budgets, reports, and correspondence. Ensure that all documentation is organized and easily accessible for reference.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing challenges or issues that arise during project implementation. Work with the Program Officer and project team to develop solutions and overcome obstacles.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Officer or project management team to contribute to the overall success of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:

A bachelor’s degree is required in related field, with relevant training in Program department. 

 

  • Work Experience:
  •  Experience of working in the humanitarian field is essential.
  • Experience of working with refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable communities.
  • Experience in project management and understanding of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to plan, organize activities, and manage time effectively to achieve set goals.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes and flexibility in dealing with changing adaptation.
  • The ability to analyze problems and propose innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Commitment to performing tasks accurately according to required deadlines and standards, and ability to work independently and assume responsibility.

  • Languages:
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written Arabic and Kurdish are essential.
  • English is highly desirable.
