BACKGROUND:
Shar for Development was established as an endeavour to reach peaceful, stable, culturally, economically and politically developing societies dominated by the values of cooperation, teamwork, enjoyment of public freedoms, respect for transparency and institutional work, and reaching a developmental state at all levels through interactive and deep programs that relate the qualification to the requirements of reality and support programs to activate democratic means in administration and society such as freedom of information, empowering women, activating their participation, supporting and developing economic and environmental development, activating youth energies and establishing a culture of volunteering and civic education and rationalising the support provided based on setting priorities and size of the impact.
CONTEXTUAL BACKGROUND:
Shiyan Project in the third phase is a continuation of activities carried out to achieve the objectives of the project and achieve the general goal of promoting community participation and contribution to the public life by providing solutions and working directly with decision-makers. In this stage, the intervention will be direct to find a solution to the current problems, in health, women and education sectors in order to implement measures to ease the current situation as a direct contribution to influencing public affairs with regard to the vital sectors of concern to people in Northeastern Syria.
JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY:
The Daily Worker for MEAL will serve in Shiyan Project The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the program team in data collection, management and analysis according to the MEAL plans and supporting the MEAL Officer in documentation of key milestones.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work within the project work plan in coordination with the direct supervisor.
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative field monitoring and verifying the implementation of project activities.
- Conducting interviews and gathering information, opinions, and data through surveys with the target groups.
- Reviewing the data to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
- Implementing data quality verification processes.
- Follow up on closing recommendations resulting from monitoring reports.
- Previous experience working in M&E or humanitarian context, is highly desirable.
- This may include experience conducting surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, or other data collection activities in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
A bachelor’s degree is required in related field, with relevant training in M&E .
- Work Experience:
- Experience of working in the humanitarian field is essential.
- Experience of working with refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable communities.
- Good knowledge of data collection applications and tools.
- Experience in collecting quantitative and qualitative data.
- Strong understanding of M&E principles, methodologies, and techniques is essential. This includes knowledge of data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
- Knowledge of basic statistical methods and confident in applying these to large data sets.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
- Languages:
- Professional fluency in spoken and written Arabic and Kurdish are essential.
- English is highly desirable.
